Factors favoring neck metastasis in patients underwent laryngectomy for laryngeal cancer

Abstract Background One third of all head and neck cancers are caused by laryngeal cancer. However, the incidence prevalence rates have decreased over past 3 decades. Neck metastasis from cancer larynx is important to be addressed as its presence greatly reduces probability survival. quality life should taken into consideration. Hence, it was analyze factors related primary detect any change tumor behavior with time. Results hundred thirty-eight patients underwent concomitant dissection laryngectomy (total or partial). Supraglottic tumors had greatest share in a count 11 (of 26 metastasis), representing 42% total value 30 supraglottic cancer) tendency spread 37% case number.
